Lake Aid organises work experience for Sekou

Sekou ski tunnel

Thank you very much to Clare Dawson from Lake Aid – Tignes for inviting Sekou, a 17 year old unaccompanied minor currently studying for his professional Baccalaureat in Business in Annecy, to do a one week internship at Tignes Spirit Community Ski Shop.

Thank you to the whole Tignes Spirit Community team and to the owner of the studio that was kindly lent to him during his stay.

When I arrived I was made to feel very welcome by Clare, her partner Kieran and all the shop team. They organised some activities for me.
I skied with an instructor (Sophie) once and the second time I skied with India, a ski instructor and employee of the shop,
Megane, Mathieu’s wife (shop employee) took me for a ride on a snowmobile and she also took me on a ride on one of the big piste bashers, and when I came home Megane gave me a lift back to Bourg Saint Maurice.

I learned a lot during my internship at the shopI thank Clare and her partner Kieran and the whole shop team at Tignes Spirit for their kindness and for everything they have done for me and hope we meet again soon. Thank you !

First day : He helped in the shop and then he went and had a go at servicing skis in workshop. This pic is Charlie workshop manager teaching him how to use the machines.

Last day : He was great, everyone was very fond of him. It was mega busy so think it was a baptism of fire.

He was thrown in at the deep end and obviously doesn’t know a thing about touring ski’s or splitboards but he got stuck right in.

I’d recommend him to anyone else wanting to give him a chance.
