Lake Aid organises its 2nd annual Film Night on the theme of asylum-seekers

One of our goals at Lake Aid is to raise awareness of the challenges asylum seekers face in our own community here around Lake Annecy. So we are delighted to announce our second annual Film Night on the theme of Asylum, in partnership with Talloires Cinema, Friday 26th November 2021 at 8pm.

We will be showing Florence Miailhe’s award-winning animated film La Traversee, followed by the opportunity to meet Lake Aid’s volunteers and find out more about the work they do with young asylum-seekers.

Sociologist and Lake Aider Claudia Seymour will present her latest research report Finding our Way: A study of unaccompanied minors and volunteer support in Annecy.

And finally we are delighted to announce that Euronews journalist (and Lake Aid supporter) Isabelle Kumar will be our master of ceremonies for the night.

Please note: The majority of the evening will be in French, but there will be some English spoken given the anglophone background of many of our volunteers so do please come along even if you might not understand every word!
