We will start the evening with a projection of ‘Tori and Lokita’, a film about the friendship between two youngsters who have travelled alone from Africa, and find themselves contending with the cruel conditions of their exile in Belgium.
After the film, journalist Isabelle Kumar will invite some of the families supported by Lake Aid to take to the stage and tell the audience about their own experiences arriving in Annecy.
We will hear from asylum-seekers and refugees from Afghanistan, Kosovo, Venezuela, Armenia and Congo Brazzaville.
This evening is a unique opportunity to find out more about asylum-seekers in our own community and how associations like Lake Aid support them.
