Lake Aid announces new partnership with ConnectAID

by Felicity Fallon

Lake Aid is delighted to join ConnectAID, the International Solidarity Network, as a non-profit partner. This innovative humanitarian aid platform was started by Gaelle Mogli. Originally from Haute-Savoie, Gaelle spent many years working in overseas development, including as a UN spokesperson, before returning to this area.

Gaelle founded ConnectAID to help individuals, corporations and international organisations meet together the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals in a practical, tangible and constructive way. A social network, it works on a number of levels – enabling individuals to donate to carefully vetted charities active all around the world, connecting nonprofits  with each other to share skills and knowledge, looking for corporate sponsors and offering cost-effective tools and support to the charities on the ground that need them most.

We are excited to welcome ConnectAID Partner Lake Aid. You have accomplished so much and have helped so many asylum-seeking children in the Annecy area through your network of volunteers. Together, we can do so much more to create welcoming, caring local communities for families in need.

Gaelle Mogli, founder of ConnectAID

Lake Aid’s focus has always been on helping asylum-seeking families and unaccompanied minors in Annecy and the surrounding area. This new partnership with ConnectAID will enable Lake Aid to reach new donors, as well as make connections with humanitarian organisations around the world.

We help children and families at what we hope is the end of their long and often painful asylum-seeking journey. We welcome them and help them integrate into a new country. We hope our partnership with ConnectAID will connect us to charities in asylum-seekers’ countries of origin and the countries they pass through, help us understand the bigger migration picture, and thereby make an impact beyond our own community in Annecy.
